Project Z0EVIL as it became to be known, was a Concourse Correctional Detail performed on a
4000 mile 2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. When the car was purchased, it was delivered with
various blemishes and imperfections, along dealer wash induced swirls and scratches. The car
was born with the most distinctive color combination on a Z06...Black on Black. GM's black is a
very flat black and when properly corrected, it does indeed blow most factory black paints away.
However, it is one of the most delicate finishes to maintain. Reflections is very good friends with
the owner and decided to showcase what kind of work Reflections is capable of.
We agreed to perform a CCD before the ever popular Corvettes At Carlisle show in 2009.
Knowing that upon arrival to the show, there are typically 3 to 4000 corvettes at this show, we
wanted this particular Z to stand out among the show field. We wanted on lookers to drool and
realize that this was how a fully corrected corvette should look like while being driven in, not
trailered. The mission was to make this ordinary black Z06 stand among the crowd.
We gave ourselves a month to perform the work, that way the car as fresh as it could be for the
show. There was to be nothing sacrificed or untreated. The car fully assessed before any work was
performed. It was deemed that the paint had the typical dealer wash induced swirls and
scratches, the clear coat had some type of bubbling or "stained" look to it. The wheel barrels
needed to be scrubbed which are grooved and very hard to maintain. The entire exterior had some
type of blemish or mark, that needed to be removed.
Follow the pictures and writes below to see how we transformed this ordinary black Z06 into a
detailed masterpiece!!
